Thanks to an initiative by Regione Campania, the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia and the Teatro di San Carlo have forged an agreement that will see them working together for three years on the regional, Italian and international cultural scene. The relationship between the two institutions – which in 2008, in the first edition of the Festival, coproduced Lo Vommaro a duello by Roberto De Simone – regards the organisation and coproduction of shows and initiatives in the 2009/2011 period, from the participation of the San Carlo Orchestra in the event, to the Theatre becoming one of the Festival's permanent venues. The festival and the Teatro di San Carlo organise a summer season at the Arena Flegrea, the Festival d'Oltremare, with operas, dramas and jazz from the 7th July to the 11th August.
The Napoli Teatro Festival Italia and the Teatro di San Carlo have produced and organized concerts in theatres, in squares and in the monumental sites of the centres of the region. A cycle of concerts and performances of the Orchestra and choir of the San Carlo has been organized for the Teatro "San Gesualdo" of Avellino, the Teatro Municipale "Giuseppe Verdi" of Salerno, the Belvedere of San Leucio (Caserta) and the Piazza Santa Sofia of Benevento.
