Tango inside a shop-window of the historic centre: Tango Toilet by Rodrigo Pardo

From June 17 to 19 Argentinean choreographer Rodrigo Pardo is back at Napoli Teatro Festival Italia to present Tango Toilet, a show on tango. A mix of creativity and eroticism that will be performed in the restricted space of a restroom.

The show is set to be staged inside the shop-window of the Benetton store, in the very central via Toledo. Pardo, together with Claudia Jakobsen, will put forward a performance played entirely on the sense of constriction and limitation. The idea of setting the performance in a toilet came about as a necessity: the search of a set in Buenos Aires, an unconventional space where the sensuality of tango can be expressed hand to hand. The limits of space are conceived as a creative starting point. The spectator will no longer be a simple testimony of the theatre act but will reinterpret it, giving a different meaning to what he sees. A spectator/creator that sees what is moving in front of him, but can only imagine all that fantasy makes him perceive.
