Tango in an unconventional space: Tango Toilet

Passion and elegance have always been synonyms of tango, but could they both be expressed in a restricted and unusual space such as a common home restroom?

Tango Toilet

The challenge will be met in Tango Toilet, the provocative performance by Rodrigo Pardo that is back at the Festival after having danced in 2009 on the roofs of the Art Academy. A mix of creativity and eroticism in the narrow space of a restroom, staged inside a shop-window, right in the very heart of the city. This is where Pardo and the dancer Claudia Jakobsen have choreographed a passionate tango. A performance that toys with the sense of constriction and limitation, in which the two dancers will put forward the traditional rite of “a sad thought danced” in a contemporary and conceptual point of view.
Presented as preview of the 2007 Venice Biennale, it will feature in June within the third edition of Napoli Teatro Festival Italia.
