Dedicated to the notorious dance the show Napoletango – produced by Teatro Eliseo, in co-production with Napoli Teatro Festival Italia – directed by Giancarlo Sepe, that tells the story of a southern family to the rythm of the music by Gardel, Santaolalla and Piazzolla, set to be staged in the Teatro di San Carlo; and the performance Tango Toilet by Argentinean choreographer and video artist Rodrigo Pardo, that will feature a passionate tango in the restricted and provocative space of a restroom, set up in the shop-window of a store in the very heart of Naples.
Together with these two shows, Napoli Teatro Festival Italia will also feature a series of parallel activities on the art of tango, in tune with the many association that, in these past years, have allowed the promotion and spread of the discipline within the city of Naples.
In collaboration with the Cultural Associations Ting(h)el Tang(h)el and Kantango, open lessons will be offered to tango lovers and to the audience of the Festival, milonga music in the streets of Naples and theme performances. The events will go together with the two main performances, showing different approaches towards the Argentinean dance, in a climate of cooperation between the many associations of the area that have the aim of presenting all nuances of the “art of Tango”.
