E45, the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia Fringe, starts its first experiment this year. Twenty seven shows presented in theatres and open spaces within the city are planned with an independent programme parallel to the official Festival. The artists and the companies which will form the first experimental edition of E45 Napoli Fringe Festival have been short-listed from among the various proposals received in recent months by the Festival management – these had not been selected for the official programme, they did not request a co-production but presented their self-produced work accepting the self-government conditions established by the fringe. The only support they are given is the communication of the programme and the management of the spaces allotted to them.
L'associazione culturale Interno 5, founded in 2003 by five young Neapolitan theatre professionals, deals with the organization, the promotion and the production of activities connected to theatre: carrying out of workshops and training courses, organization of festivals, executive production of dance, theatre and performing arts exhibitions. The Interno 5 activity, initially oriented towards artistic creation, has since concentrated on organizational work, with the main objective of promoting theatrical culture in Naples. Beyond the production of several shows, Interno 5 produces and organizes several festivals of theatre: as of 2005, it has directed, produced and organized The Actor's International Festival in Naples while, in 2006 and 2007, it directed, produced and organized Movi/mentale, a dance and video-art festival. For the first edition of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, in 2008, it has taken care of the executive production of Cosa deve fare Napoli per rimanere in equilibrio sopra un uovo by Enrique Vargas and Vedrai andrà tutto bene by Monika Pormale.
The E45 European road is a mixed north/south class A road axis. Its north and south extremes are Karesuvanto in Finland and Gela in Italy; the whole route, that unwinds through Europe, runs 4.920 km.
